Attitude is everything.
I find when I slide mentally and emotionally into despair, anxiety or being glum, my work life suffers greatly. It is hard for me on the best of days to feel well enough to ATTEMPT work, let alone do a good job. Some days are good and some are spectacular failures.
However things have been on a quiet upswing this week. I have a VERY PT position. Just 10 hours or so per week most weeks (not all). This provides me the money to pay off medical costs. Per the news, there is a surge in wanting to add medical debt back onto credit reports. I am careful with mine. I make sure that by the end of the year, I am paid up and paid off fully.
But work is about more than paying bills. As someone who has chronic health conditions, it is a part of feeling productive. Like a "real" adult that contributes to society.
Work is about more than a paycheck. Never think of it as just a bank deposit.
